Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club is set to host Chirundu United at Independence Stadium in Solwezi for Week 10 of the ZPL National League tomorrow.
All preparations are complete, and Coach Zeddy Saileti has expressed high expectations, especially with the team playing on home turf.
Despite a draw against Chambishi in their last home match following a previous win, Coach Saileti has emphasized the importance of a focused approach against Chirundu United. With a strong 20-man squad, he’s reminded the team not to underestimate their opponents.
Following a long trip back from Chipata on Tuesday, the team has undergone a thorough recovery process. Coach Saileti has assured that travel fatigue will not be an excuse, saying the team has done all it can in terms of recovery, and the players are ready for another battle.
However, the coach has also disclosed that left-back Joseph Chomba will miss this match due to injury.
Currently, Kansanshi Dynamos sits in second place with 20 points, while Chirundu United is in seventh with 12 points, setting the stage for an exciting clash at 15:00 tomorrow.
Coach Saileti’s Pre-Match Insights with KDFC Media:
On his expectations for the match:
“Our expectations are very high because we need to keep winning, especially at home. Last time, we drew against Chambishi, which wasn’t ideal, but I’ve spoken to the players, and we’re focused on building a winning mentality. We need to work as a team, just as we’ve done in previous home games. It’s simple – we need to score more goals.”
On managing fatigue after the long trip from Chipata:
“We have recovered well. The morale is high, and everyone is looking forward to the game tomorrow. The team spirit is strong, and each player is ready to give their best for a victory.”
On the approach against Chirundu United:
“We will approach the match with respect. I’ve reminded the players that no team should be underrated, as every opponent aims to defeat Kansanshi. We need to stick to our game plan, stay focused, and give it our all. Chirundu United is a solid team, so we’ll be prepared.”
Message to the fans:
“Our fans expect maximum points, and we encourage them to come in large numbers, as they always do. Their loyalty is appreciated, and we’ll do our best to make them proud.”
Injury update:
“Joseph Chomba, who nearly played a full match last week, will be resting this weekend due to an injury.”
