Kansanshi Dynamos FC suffered their first loss of the season in a disappointing week-three encounter, falling 1-0 to Leopards Hill FC.
After securing victories in their first two matches, the team coached by Zeddy Saileti couldn’t maintain their winning streak, with Patrick Ngoma’s 59th-minute goal proving to be the difference.
The game saw both sides create chances, but Kansanshi Dynamos struggled to convert. In the 33rd minute, the hosts had a free kick in a dangerous position, but Kansanshi’s goalkeeper, Gregory Sanjanse, easily collected it. Just two minutes later, Kizito Kezeron had a promising chance, but his effort was calmly collected by Makasa Kalaba.
As the first half drew to a close, Tranquilin Mwepu made a promising run down the flank, but his control let him down, allowing the opposition to regain possession.
The second half saw Kansanshi Dynamos earn back-to-back corners in the 50th minute, but both opportunities were squandered. The hosts nearly capitalized on a good chance in the 54th minute, but Benjamin Mukandauko was caught offside.
Kansanshi Dynamos came close to equalizing in the 64th minute when Kizito Kezeron unleashed a powerful shot that rattled the crossbar. The goalkeeper managed to get a touch, resulting in a corner, but the chance went begging.
The decisive moment came in the 59th minute when Patrick Ngoma found the back of the net after benefiting from Portfer Zulu’s pass, giving Leopards Hill FC the lead.
Despite a late chance for Kansanshi Dynamos in the 89th minute, when Rodgers Lukonde delivered a perfect cross, Chali Mulaisho, in a great position, failed to convert, sending his effort over the bar.
After the match, Coach Zeddy Saileti expressed his disappointment, attributing the loss to a lack of proper coordination among his players.
“It’s a disappointing result. We didn’t play our usual game. We failed to utilize our many chances, and they capitalized on their one good chance,” he said.
This result leaves Kansanshi Dynamos FC with six points and work to do as they look to bounce back in their next fixture which will be a home game.
