MATCH REPORT|| KANSANSHI HELD TO A GOALLESS DRAW AGAINST YOUNG BUFFALOES

Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club have been held to a goalless draw by Young Green Buffaloes in a Week 13 fixture of the ZPL National League at Lusaka’s Independence Stadium.

Coach Zeddy Saileti described the match as a tough encounter, noting that his players struggled to adapt to the artificial turf after their previous game. He also highlighted that misplaced passes allowed the hosts to gain confidence throughout the match.

The game began with Young Green Buffaloes creating an early chance in the 5th minute when Nerbert Musamba’s header was saved by Gregory Sanjase. The hosts continued to apply pressure and forced another save from Sanjase in the 14th minute.

Kansanshi’s first real opportunity came in the 34th minute when Tranquilin Mwepu’s effort was blocked by the Buffaloes defense. The hosts nearly scored in the 37th minute but missed their chance after a crowded attack, followed by a narrowly missed free kick from Robert Chama in the 39th minute. Kansanshi responded with a chance in the 41st minute, but Mwepu’s shot lacked power and was easily collected by the Buffaloes goalkeeper.

The second half saw Coach Saileti make tactical adjustments, with Titus Chivunga replaced by Mathews Mwale in the 62nd minute. Kansanshi pushed for a breakthrough, but Dalitso Lungu’s weak shot in the 79th minute was easily saved. In the 81st minute, Rabson Mwila broke through the defense but missed a golden opportunity, shooting wide at the near post.

Further substitutions saw Kunda Mazhinga and Timothy Sakala introduced for Tranquilin Mwepu and Kizito Kezeron, respectively, but Kansanshi could not find the winning goal.

The draw leaves Kansanshi Dynamos in second place on the league table with 28 points, two points behind leaders Konkola Blades and three ahead of third-placed Prison Leopards. The team will aim to regain their winning form in their next match as they continue their quest for promotion.
