KANSANSHI Dynamos FC aim to maintain momentum as they host Chambishi in a Week-eight fixture of the ZPL National League tomorrow.
Kansanshi, currently second on the table with 16 points, will be looking to continue their fine form against eighth-placed Chambishi, who have 8 points.
Despite their favourable position, Coach Zeddy Saileti continues to emphasize the importance of avoiding complacency, reminding his players that the ultimate goal—promotion to the MTN Super League—is still a long way off.
Coach Saileti, a former Zambian international, also extended his well-wishes to the Zambia National Football Team as they face Chad in an AFCON Qualifier later this afternoon.
Speaking ahead of this Chambishi clash, Coach Saileti offered insights on the team’s preparations:
Q: You face Chambishi tomorrow in a Week 8 match. How are you approaching this game?
Coach Saileti:
“It’s a tricky game because last week they won their first match of the season. They’ll be motivated. I’ve spoken to the boys, and I’ve made it clear that we have to maintain our momentum and work hard. We can’t afford to underrate them; we just need to focus on playing our game.”
Q: You’ve secured three consecutive victories. How are you ensuring the players don’t become complacent?
Coach Saileti:
“I’m not too worried about complacency. This is our job. I’ve told the boys that we can’t afford to relax. Each game is different, and we can’t rely on past results. We need to stay focused and work hard in every match as it comes.”
Q: With the top-placed team consistently picking up points, what’s your target for tomorrow?
Coach Saileti:
“Our goal is to keep winning because only then can we achieve our objective of promotion. The team spirit and teamwork are strong, and we look more cohesive as a unit. I’m confident that if we continue working together, we’ll get the result we need on Saturday.”
Q: You’ll be playing in front of your home fans again, following a great result in the last home game. What are you telling the players ahead of tomorrow’s match?
Coach Saileti:
“The players must stick to the game plan and not play to the gallery. There’s an expectation for us to win, but we need to follow the strategy and make our fans proud.”
Q: Lastly, any message for the Chipolopolo as they take on Chad in the AFCON Qualifier today?
Coach Saileti:
“As a Zambian, a coach, and a former international, I’m always behind the team. I expect them to do well, and I wish them all the best.”
Kansanshi will host Chamibish at Independence Stadium, at 15hours tomorrow.
