Just two minutes later, Titus Chivunga had a great chance to equalize, but his effort failed to find the back of the net.
Coach Saileti shuffled the pack after halftime, bringing on Rabson Mumba for Dalitso Lungu in the 46th minute to inject fresh energy into the attack. Captain Rodgers Lukonde tried to create chances, but Mpulunguโs defense, led by Levy Mumba, stood tall.
The visitors looked dangerous in the 70th minute, almost doubling their lead, but Martin Alufonso produced a critical block to deny Chongo Mulenga. Sensing the urgency, Saileti made another bold move, bringing on Kizito Kezeron for Julius Mwanza. The changes kept Kansanshi knocking on the door, but time was running out.
Then came the late fireworks. In the 90th minute, super-sub Clinton Lubula, introduced in the 79th minute, delivered a perfect cross to Kelvin โKachoโ Chisamba, who calmly tapped in the equalizer. The Independence Stadium erupted as the Mabanga Boys clawed their way back into the game.
But Kansanshi wasnโt done yet. Just two minutes later, Lubula turned provider once again, setting up Rabson Mumba for the winner. Mumbaโs towering header sealed an unforgettable victory, sending Mpulungu home empty-handed.
This victory was a much-needed morale booster for Kansanshi, who had gone three games without a win. Coach Saileti had promised a strong response from his team, and they delivered in style.
