We at Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club are devastated by the tragic loss of seven young players from Chavuma Town Council FC, who lost their lives in a road traffic accident while traveling for their Week 8 fixture in the North Western Province Division One League.
This heart breaking accident, confirmed by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) in a statement issued yesterday, has left a deep void in the lives of families, friends, and our entire football community.
As reported by FAZ, the accident occurred when the bus carrying the team overturned between Lukhunyi and Ndondo in Chavuma District. Tragically, seven lives were lost, and eleven others sustained injuries, currently receiving care at Chavuma District Hospital.
As a club with our developmental side, Young Kansanshi United, competing in the same league, we feel closely connected to Chavuma Town Council FC. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the departed young players and stand in solidarity with everyone affected. Our thoughts and prayers are also with the injured, hoping for their full recovery.
